All change modernisation programme update
The £385m Metro all change modernisation programme continued over the Easter weekend. During the four day closure a major stretch of Metro’s overhead power supply system was replaced.It was the first time in 30 years that a major replacement of overhead line has taken place and was the first major chunk of modernisation to take place south of the Tyne.
