Q. Can I use my 3 Zone Day Saver on the ferry?  

 

A: Yes, that ticket cover ferry journeys on the same day.

 

 

Q: We want to go to Sunderland University, how do we get there? 

 

A: You will need a 2 Zone ticket. Get off at Pelaw and change for a train to South Hylton and get off at the University station.

 

 

Q: Community noticeboards are hidden away. They should be by the Help Point?  

 

A: We’ve used existing frames to prevent wastage but unfortunately space is also limited.

 

 

Q: Help Points at South Shields are not working

 

A: Thank you for letting us know. The fault will be reported and we’ll get it repaired as soon as possible.

 

 

Q: Service is good and reliable however concerned about the disruption from passengers on stations (got involved in an incident and was very impressed by staff handling the situation)

 

A:  Firstly apologies that you were involved in the incident I can understand how upsetting that can be. We are introducing new initiatives that increase the presence of staffing on the network. This not only increases the visibility of our customer service staff but it also helps to put passengers at ease especially when travelling on a night time.

 

 

Q: Concerned about the overcrowding on match days

 

A: We can understand how packed the trains are on match days and most of the travelling supporters are good natured.  We do allow for the sudden increase in passengers and because of this we provide additional trains to manage the flow better. We also advise people to allow plenty of time for their journey to spread out number of passengers on the trains.

 

COMMENTS

 

As Gold Card users we use the Metro 2-3 times a week and £25 is still value for money!

 

Regular leisure user on Gold Card. I use the Metro instead of the bus due to it being quicker and more pleasant. Still think Gold Card is good value!

 

Service works well with no specific issues to highlight.

 

Travels from Newcastle to South Shields for job and finds the service frequent and punctual.
