Free Station Accessibility Access to station
- Station is situated on top of railway viaduct on west side of North Bridge Street with separate entrances to each platform.
- There are light controlled crossings or a subway to access the east side of North Bridge Street.
- There is a small public car park with operated by Sunderland City Council with 23 unclassified bays and 4 designated accessible bays to the west of the station via Sheepfolds North. Note that the ramp linking the car park with the station is quite steep.
Access to ticketing areas
- Lift or stair access up to both platforms. Note that there is a pronounced slope down to the Platform 2 lift at ground level
- Both sets of stairs have dual height handrails in both sides.
Access between platforms
- Use lift/steps and arches under station.
