Planned works

27th May - St James station closed - Sunday 27 May 9am-1pm

To allow for Summer event preparation. During the station closure Manors platform 2 will be closed, trains will arrive and leave from Manors platform 1 to travel to both Monument and the coast. Monument and Central station will be open as normal. Your journey may take longer so allow extra time. We're sorry for any inconvenience.

19th May - No trains Byker to North Shields

All day Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 May, to allow for maintenance. A bus replacement 900 service will call at or close to all stations between Byker and Tynemouth. Your journey will take longer so please allow extra time. We're sorry for any inconvenience.

16th May - East Boldon station work

To allow for work on the new ticket machines at East Boldon a section of both platforms will be boarded off for about a week. Trains will run as normal however access to the station enquiry point may be restricted. If you need assistance and cannot use the enquiry point please text or call 0191 203 3666. 23rd April - New escalators
