Altoonative Travel is all about helping people make informed choices on how they can get to see their football heroes.
For too long, supporters have had to search all over the web for information on bus services, where to park their bike and where is the best car park? But this new scheme will give you help with these questions as well as provide fans with information on options like park and ride, advice on creating your own travel club and car sharing.
One of the unique features of the Altoonative Travel website is that it will even give you a detailed route taking you from your living room directly to your seat.
This is a one stop shop for people going to the match but it is still in its early stages but the scheme is keen to find out where people think there are gaps, and how to help people avoid the match day madness of getting to the match.
Fans can even email some of their more unusual routes to St James’ Park and share some of their own travel tips.
Sally Herbert Sustainable Travel Officer for Newcastle City Council said: “Altoonative Travel will give football fans a real choice of how they get to and from the match. For the first time visitors to St James’ Park have only got to log onto one website which will give them information on public transport, car sharing and where you can park your bike.
“This scheme will also give the public information on where we have secured enhanced new services throughout the travel network.
“It will also give fans details about park and ride schemes and finding fellow supporters to car share with. We are also excited with our unique feature which allows you to plan your journey to the game from your living room directly to your seat.”
Altoonative Travel is the public face of the Newcastle United Travel Plan which is managed by Newcastle City Council on behalf of the Newcastle United Supporter Travel Plan Advisory Board, which includes Nexus, Network One, Newcastle City Council and Newcastle United.
