Get to the Hoppings by bus and Metro

Hoppings
10 June 2010

It’s Hoppings time again – and Europe’s biggest travelling funfair is easy to get to by public transport.

Buses from all over Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland stop right outside the fairground site on Newcastle’s Town Moor – every two minutes.

And The Hoppings is just a short walk from Metro at West Jesmond – plus bus routes from all other parts of the North East at Haymarket and Eldon Square.

Travel is easy, while family and child tickets make getting to the fair cheap. Children with a Free Tyne and Wear Under 16 Card travel all day on bus and Metro for just £1.

Arriva buses also offer a Family Day Ticket for up to five people (must include at least one adult and one child) for just £11. Ask the driver when you board.

And Metro passengers are advised to buy a return ticket from any ticket machine.
