Bus pass holders asked to update details

National Concessionary Travel Pass
11 October 2012

Nexus is asking free bus pass holders in Tyne and Wear who have moved or changed name in the five years since their last pass was issued to get in touch.

Those people who have an English National Concessionary Travel Pass that expires on 31 March 2013 who have changed personal details need to let Nexus know by 1 November to make sure they get a replacement pass without fuss.

The majority of more than 200,000 people in Tyne and Wear last issued a pass in 2008, and are due to get a new one in March 2013, will be sent it automatically to their home address.

Tobyn Hughes, Nexus Director of Customer Services, said: “We are preparing to send out more than 200,000 replacement concessionary travel passes to people who last received a pass five years ago, and which will expire at the end of March 2013.

“Most people don’t need to do anything, they will get their pass automatically – but if you have moved or changed name since getting a pass in 2008 get in touch before November 2012 so we can update your details.  All the people this applies to will be over 65 by now or have a permanent disability dating from before 2008.”

Anyone who has moved or changed name, through marriage or other reason, should get in touch with Nexus by email at [email protected], phone on 0191 20 20 747 (after 6pm if possible) or by visiting a Nexus TravelShop.

They can also write to Nexus at “Update CT Pass details, Customer Services, Nexus, Nexus House, St James' Boulevard,  Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 4AX.”

Customers need to provide their full name and address when they last applied for a bus pass, and what it is now, along with their 18-digit Concessionary Travel Pass number - this is on every card and starts with 633597.
