‘Things Made’ is a vitreous enamel mural made up of 29 large panels which pay homage to the industries that operated in this area over the centuries.
Reflecting not just the larger industries that affected people’s working lives the work also makes references to the domestic and personal. The images contained within ‘Things Made’ allude to a diverse range of productivity, spanning coal mining, shipbuilding, textiles and glass making and investigate the qualities of a wide spectrum of surfaces, colours and materials.
