And on many main roads you can catch a bus every few minutes to key destinations. No wonder more people are discovering bus offers a convenient, reliable and affordable way to work, education, shopping and fun. Buses are getting better - - £26 million has been spent on new vehicles for Tyne and Wear by bus companies since 2006

- Go North East have invested over £1m on the 8 new buses on their Saltwell Park 53/54 route.
- Over £3m has been spent on new buses serving the Great North Road and Gosforth High Street.
