So, even without a car, getting to work or to the retail and leisure parks and attractions of North Tyneside, has never been easier. And there's now an increased service between Northumberland Park and Cobalt Business Park at peak times, as well as evening and Sunday connections between North Shields ferry landing and town centre - see the timetable below for full details. Route 19 is a multi-million pound project to improve accessibility along the A19 corridor in North Tyneside. Route 19 includes: - a new ferry landing at North Shields
- improvements to Percy Main Metro station to include interchange facilities
- a brand new Metro station, bus interchange and CCTV monitored car park at Northumberland Park
- a fast, frequent and reliable high quality bus route that links it all together.
The Route 19 bus route includes some stretches of dedicated road to ensure reliability. And the vehicles used are modern, accessible, clean and easy to spot with their striking livery. The route serves many areas of North Tyneside that can be difficult to reach without a car – such as Cobalt Business Park, Silverlink Business and Retail Park and Royal Quays.
