 Dogs Dogs can travel free on the Shields Ferry.
For reasons of health and safety please ensure your dog is kept under control at all times. Bikes Bikes can also be carried across the river on the Shields Ferry free of charge. And if a group of you plan to use the ferry at the same time (eg for a charity bike ride), we can accommodate about 20 bikes on-board.
