Before you travel on Metro you will need to buy a ticket. Ticket machines are located inside each station entrance. Once you buy your ticket, there are destination lists showing which platform you need to go. You may need to change trains for some journeys. This is because the Metro system is made up of two separate lines – the green line and the yellow line, which cover different areas of the system. There are three main interchange points – Monument, Pelaw and South Gosforth, where you can switch from one line to another to enable system-wide travel. On most platforms there is a digital indicator panel showing the number of minutes to wait until the next train.
