The future of any city-region depends on the best transport networks to allow its people to move around easily, to smooth the wheels of business, to let the streets breathe. Metro is part of everyday life and a great source of pride – but after 26 years Metro needs substantial investment to meet the needs of our economy in the decades ahead. The Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Authority and Nexus has put forward plans for the £600m Re-Invigoration of Metro - this area contains details of those plans, why Metro matters and how you can comment and show your support.
