Please note that due to the closure to buses of the Queen Alexandra Bridge in Sunderland with effect from Wednesday 30 March 2005 for an indefinite period, some services will change. Stagecoach Service 6 (from Tuesday 29 March) This service will only operate Sunderland to Witherwack via Southwick. Combined with Service 7 it will offer a 15 minute Monday to Saturday daytime service between City Centre and Witherwack. As a consequence the section of route between Southwick,Pallion,Ford,Prospect,Eye Infirmary and Grangetown is withdrawn. This is partly replaced with revised Services 18/19. Stagecoach Service 7 (from Tuesday 29 March) This service will continue to operate Sunderland to Witherwack via Newcastle Road, every 30 mins daily. The section of route between Sunderland and Grangetown is withdrawn and partly replaced by revised Service 18/19. Stagecoach Service 18 (from Tuesday 29 March) This service will continue to operate starting at Queen Alexandra Bridge North End and operate via Southwick then normal route via Seaburn and Roker to City Centre(John Street) then to replace Service 6/7 operate via Athenaeum Street, Hendon Road, Commercial Road, Grangetown, Leechmere ASDA, Helvellyn Road, Eye Infirmary,Tunstall Road,Essen Way then via existing route to Grindon with buses continuing via Barnes Park and Royal Hospital to Queen Alexandra Bridge South End(Terminus at Gala Bingo). Stagecoach Service 19 (from Tuesday 29 March) This service will operate in the opposite direction to Service 18. Go North East Service 135 (from Wednesday 30 March) This service will operate from Sunderland to Southwick via Wearmouth Bridge and Southwick Road and not operate via Trimdon Street, (passengers should use Stagecoach Service 11).The service will then operate as existing route via Castletown,Downhill and Witherwack back to Southwick, then operate non-stop via Kier Hardie Way to Wheatsheaf then via Wearmouth Bridge and John Street to Sunderland. The service will NOT operate via Pallion and Royal Hospital, instead passengers for the hospital are advised to purchase a through ticket onto Service 126 in Sunderland. Go North East Service 136 (from Wednesday 30 March) This service will operate from Sunderland to Southwick via Wearmouth Bridge and Wheatsheaf then operate non-stop along Kier Hardie Way to North End of Queen Alexandra Bridge then via existing route to Witherwack,Downhill and Castletown back to Southwick,then via Southwick Road, Wheatsheaf, Wearmouth Bridge and John Street back to Sunderland. Like Service 135 it will no longer serve Royal Hospital and Pallion,any intending passenger should change onto Service 126 with through fares in Sunderland. Go North East Service 190 (from Wednesday 30 March) This service will change stand at Park Lane from K to V. In addition the bus will operate non-stop to Enterprise Park(Alexandra Avenue) and will not serve Trimdon Street.(Use Stagecoach Service 11 for Trimdon Street).
