If you have an Under 16 Card, travel for 40p on Northern Rail services between Newcastle and Sunderland, and Newcastle and MetroCentre/Blaydon until 7.00pm Monday-Friday

If you are (or look like you are) 14 or over, you will be charged the adult fare. So if you live in Tyne and Wear and are under 16, apply for an Under 16 Card now to be entitled to child fares.
