In 2013/4, Nexus consulted on the Tyne and Wear Quality Contracts Scheme. The findings of the consultation process, summarised in the Bus Strategy Delivery Project Consultation Report, informed the development of the scheme. At its meeting on 21 October 2014, the NECA resolved to refer the proposed QCS to the QCS Board for its consideration.
The QCS Board considered the proposed QCS, taking into account oral and written evidence from a number of parties, and published its opinion on 3 November 2015.
Further to consideration of both the QCS Board opinion and Nexus’ analysis, the NECA resolved at its meeting on 24 March 2016 not to proceed with the proposed QCS.
