- Sunday, 26 January 2020: Routes 79A and 168 – Suffolk Street, Hetton le Hole
Suffolk Street, Hetton le Hole, will be closed for resurfacing from Monday 6 January for up to three weeks. The closures will be in place Monday – Friday. For weekend of Saturday 11 Jan and Sunday 12 Jan Suffolk Street is expected to reopen from Friday lunchtime, closing again at 8am on Monday 13 Jan for the weekday works. The following weekend, the road will be open on Saturday 18 Jan only, closing on Sunday 19 Jan to enable the works to be completed.
During the closures, Services 79A & 168 (operated on behalf of Nexus by Go North East) will be unable to serve The Park Estate (Suffolk Street, Norfolk Street, Stafford Street and Dunelm Road) and will divert as follows:
Service 79A – Towards Easington Lane will divert after Durham Road along North Road re-joining normal route at The Quay.
Service 79A – Towards Barnwell will divert after The Quay along North Road re-joining normal route at Durham Road.
Service 168 – Towards East Rainton will divert after The Quay along North Road to Bramble Rise roundabout, return back down North Road to Hazard Lane re-joining normal route.
Service 168 – Towards Easington Lane will divert after Hazard Lane along North Road to Bramble Rise roundabout, return back down North Road to the Quay re-joining normal route.
Passengers from Park Estate should use stops on North Road.
- Friday, 24 January 2020: Routes 6, 7, 10, 10A, 10B and X47 – Riverside Way, Gateshead
Riverside Way will be closed for resurfacing works between 7pm and 6am each night from Monday 13 January to Friday 24 January (no works Sat/Sun).
Stagecoach service 6 and 7 towards the Metrocentre – will operate as normal to the Derwenthaugh Road roundabout where they will divert, running non-stop via Derwenthaugh Road, Hexham Road, Market Lane and Hollinside Road to Scotswood View where services will re-join the regular route.
Service 6 and 7 towards Scotswood – will follow the same non-stop route in reverse (Scotswood View, Hollinside Road, Market Lane, Hexham Road and Derwenthaugh Road before re-joining the regular route at the Derwenthaugh Road roundabout).
Go North East services 10, 10A, 10B and X47 will be unable to serve Riverside Way, Buzz Bingo or (X47) Swalwell Roundabout.
- Sunday, 02 February 2020: Routes 10, 135 and 136 – Pallion Road/Fordfield Road/Hylton Road, Sunderland
Pallion Road will be closed between Fordfield Road and Hylton Road on Sundays 19 January, 26 January and 2 February. The closures will be in place between 8am and 6pm to allow resurfacing works.
Stagecoach Service 10 towards the City Centre - will run down Fordfield Road as normal before diverting non-stop via Front Street and Hylton Road as far as Whitehall Terrace and then re-join the regular route on Hylton Road towards Sunderland.
Service 10 towards Quarry View – will follow the same non-stop diversion route but in reverse (Hylton Road, Front Street, Fordfield Road).
Nexus Service 135 (Go North East) will operate normal route to Pallion Road and then divert (non-stop) via Fordfield Road, Front Road (B1405), Hylton Road then resume normal route from Kayll Road.
Service 136 (Go North East) will operate normal route to Kayll Road and then divert (non-stop) via Hylton Road, Front Road (B1405), Fordfield Road and then resume normal route from Pallion Road.
- Sunday, 02 February 2020: Routes 10 and 20 - Hylton Road/Deptford Road/Timdon Street, Sunderland
Hylton Road, Sunderland, will be closed eastbound between Deptford Road and Timdon Street from Monday 20 January for up to two weeks to allow utility works.
Stagecoach services 10 and 20 towards Sunderland - Will travel down Hylton Road as normal to the Deptford Road junction, where services will then divert, running via Deptford Road and Trimdon Street before re-joining the regular route at the Hylton Road roundabout. A temporary stop will be available to customers on Deptford Road for their journey towards the City Centre.
Service 10 and 20 towards Pennywell – will follow normal route.
