For everyone going places

At Nexus we're here to plan, provide and promote public transport for all across Tyne and Wear. Our services play a key role in the lives of people who live and work in the region. We operate Tyne and Wear Metro and the Shields Ferry as well as supporting bus services in the area.

Our team of over 1000 employees are at the heart of delivering these public transport services and they are what make Nexus a great place to work. While a large number of our roles are clear to see such as Metro drivers and customer service employees we've also got a lot going on behind the scenes from maintenance to finance, train planning to security, health and safety to IT - everyone in our organisation plays a key role in delivering and improving public transport services.
