People who serve in the armed forces make an enormous contribution to our country and when they leave the armed forces we want them to consider working for Nexus and utilising their skills and experience and strong work ethic.
The public transport industry has always been a popular career choice for those who have left the armed forces for civilian jobs and that very much includes the services that Nexus provides.
Nexus signed the Armed Forces Covenant in May 2018 and was awarded the ERS Bronze Award very quickly. We went on to receive a Silver Award in August 2018, which was re-validated in October 2023.
Nexus received the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award in November 2024.
Every year an increasing number of organisations are pledging to support those who have served their country and the Armed Forces community by signing the Armed Forces Covenant, a promise from the nation that those who serve or have served, and their families are treated fairly. The ERS encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.
