Metro appears in Newcastle United away kit launch

One of our new Stadler Metro trains has featured in the official video content for the unveiling of the club’s new blue away shirt for the 2026/27 season.

The Metro can be seen briefly in the social media video which revealed the new change kit. It was posted on Newcastle United’s official Instagram and Tik Tok channels, showcasing the club’s latest shirt.

In the video, the Metro carriage can be seen with a group of young Newcastle United fans on board wearing the new away shirt.

The full kit launch video and behind the scenes video of the filming has been uploaded to the Newcastle United YouTube channel.

Helen Mathews, Commercial Director at Nexus, said: “We were delighted to work with Newcastle United Football Club and adidas as part of the launch of the new away shirt for the coming season.

“This is the first time that Metro has been part of a Newcastle United kit launch. When we were approached to be a part of the filming, we were really pleased to take part. A lot of work went into the planning process.

“It’s great to see our new Metro trains appearing in the film, which is getting many thousands of views and shares on social media.

“The Metro system is a great backdrop for filming and we’re always keen to work with different brands to accommodate their requests.”
