Grey's Monument

Grey's Monument

Erected in 1838 to commemorate Earl Grey and his contribution to the passing of the Great Reform Bill, this Roman Doric column of hard millstone grit stands 135ft tall and is set on a base of local sandstone. A hologram effect likeness of Earl Grey’s head is set into four points on the base as part of a creative lighting strategy.
