Welcome to the Service Provider pages for the Nexus infrastructure known as the Metro Shared Network.
This site hosts key regulatory documentation and other information in respect of the role Nexus undertakes as Service Provider for the railway network running from the Connection Point with Network Rail at Jarrow Junction and the Connection Point with Prax Oil Terminal, as well as hosting industry consultations run by Nexus.
The former Jarrow Branch will be transferred from Network Rail to Nexus on 11 September 2022. Following a period of dual track works, lasting until December 2022, the Metro Shared Network will allow for mixed traffic between freight and Metro trains on this section of track.

- The MSN is covered by and operates in accordance with Nexus' Rule Book which is largely aligned to other National Operations Publications, they are available by clicking on this link. The Nexus Rule Book may be released upon request.

- For MSN access charges, Nexus has aligned it’s charges to Network Rail’s Track Usage Pricelist, which is available by clicking on this link. These are captured in individual Access Agreements with parties wishing to gain access to the MSN.

- A draft Nexus Engineering Access Statement has been produced by Nexus and is available on this page. This will be updated in December 2022 to reflect the completion of the dual track works.
