- Underground station below Newcastle main rail station.
- Access to station is via three entrances: from Main Line Station concourse which is step free; externally from Neville Street adjacent to east side of main line station entrance which is stair access only; and from Grainger Street which is stair access only.
- The doorways between Newcastle main rail station and Metro Central Station are closed by the main rail station each evening from about 11.15pm (always closed by 11.30pm). When the shutters are down, step free access to or from Metro Central Station is not available. If you require step free access, please consider using the next Metro station, contact us on the station Help Point, or call 0191 203 3666 for assistance.
