Seaburn platform 1 lift is out of use until 17 July to allow for refurbishment work. If you need step free access and want to travel from Seaburn platform 1, travel from platform 2 to East Boldon, change platform and continue your journey. If you need step free access to leave Seaburn platform 1, remain on the train until St Peter’s, change platform and return to Seaburn.

The doors between Airport station and Newcastle International Airport terminal are closed. Passengers can access/leave the station via the alternative doorway, located at the side of the station.

When we are running a good service the status will show as ‘No Metro disruptions’. Any delays (less than 15 minutes) to service will be announced via the station PA system and passenger information boards. If delays occur resulting in trains running more than 15 minutes later than advertised the status will be updated by an automatic travel alert system.

- Northumberland Car Park - partial closure

The ground floor level of the car park is open, all other levels are closed until further notice to allow for essential maintenance. On the ground floor there are 22 parking bays and 5 disabled bays.  Alternative parking is available at Four Lane Ends station. We're sorry for any inconvenience.



 


 

- Seaburn platform 1 lift refurbishment

 

The lift at Seaburn platform 1 will be out of use from Monday 21 June until Friday 16 July, to allow for refurbishment work.

If you require step free access to or from platform 1 at Seaburn we advise the following:

  • If you'd like to travel from platform 1 (towards South Hylton), board a train from platform 2, travel to East Boldon, change platform and continue your journey.
  • If you wish to leave the train at platform 1 (travelling from Heworth direction) stay on the train until St Peter's, change platform and return to Seaburn platform 2.

Your journey will take longer so please leave extra time for travel.  For help planning your journey call 0191 20 20 747 (open 9.00am - 5.00pm). 



 


 

- No trains between Wallsend and Tynemouth

All day on Saturday 3 July no trains will run between Wallsend and Tynemouth in either direction, to allow for over head line work. Trains will be running to all other stations but may not be to usual timetable.

A replacement bus, service 900 will be running in the affected area. Metro tickets and passes will be valid on the replacement bus. Remember to touch in and out using your smartcard at the start and end of your journey.  You can buy your ticket from the replacement bus driver, but please ensure you have the correct change for your ticket.  Some late night replacement buses will continue to Longbenton from Tynemouth and from Wallsend to Monument as they do not connect to the late trains. 

Check train and replacement bus times before you travel.  Your journey will take longer especially if transferring between different modes of transport, so please leave extra time for your journey.  For help planning your journey call 0191 20 20 747 (lines open Monday-Friday 8.00am-5.00pm).
