When we are running a good service the status will show as ‘No Metro disruptions’. Any delays (less than 15 minutes) to service will be announced via the station PA system and passenger information boards. If delays occur resulting in trains running more than 15 minutes later than advertised the status will be updated by an automatic travel alert system.

- Northumberland Car Park - partial closure

The first four floors of the car park are open for use.   The floors above level 4 will remain closed.



 


 

- Sunderland Station southern entrance closure

Sunderland Station southern entrance closure

To allow for the £26m revamp of the south entrance of Sunderland Station the entrance needs to be closed from Monday 2 May.  Access to the station (including step free access via the lift) and to Metro ticket machines will be available at the north entrance (located on Union street). 

Metro trains will be stop at the usual location on the platforms.



 


 

- No trains between Pelaw and South Hylton until about midday

Improvement Works.  No trains will run between Pelaw and South Hylton on Sunday 29 May until about midday to allow Network Rail to carry out work. Trains will be running to all other stations but may not be to the usual timetable. The first train to leave Pelaw towards South Hylton will be the 11.28am. The first train to leave South Hylton will be the 12.07pm.  More details are available in the Timetable changes section.

A replacement bus service, number 901 will be running, calling at or close to all stations Heworth to South Hylton.

Revised Metro timetable Sunday 29 May

On Sunday 29 May no trains will run between Pelaw and South Hylton until about midday, to allow for planned Network Rail work.  A replacement bus service will be running, more information here.

The first train to leave Pelaw towards South Hylton will be the 11.28am. The first train to leave South Hylton will be the 12.07pm.
