We currently have two withdrawn trains between Airport - Gateshead Stadium, and one withdrawn train between St James - Gateshead Stadium, causing delays of up to 30 minutes until end of service. This is due to a shortage of train crew. Metro apologise for the disruption to your journey.

Modernisation work:

There are no trains running between Gateshead Stadium, Hebburn and Brockley Whins in either direction all day Friday 19, Saturday 20, Sunday 21 and Monday 22 April while we carry out track renewal work.

Replacement bus services, 900 and 901, will call at or near to all stations in the affected area. Replacement bus stop location maps and timetables are available at nexus.org.uk/metro.

There will be a frequent service in all other areas, but trains may not be to timetable. Your journey will take longer, so leave extra time for travel if possible. For help planning your journey use the Live Travel Map at nexus.org.uk.

When we are running a good service the status will show as ‘No Metro disruptions’. Any delays (less than 15 minutes) to service will be announced via the station PA system and passenger information boards. If delays occur resulting in trains running more than 15 minutes later than advertised the status will be updated by an automatic travel alert system.
