17 July 2017 - Brockley Whins Network Rail work

Network Rail are carrying out work on the railway embankment at Brockley Whins.  During the work Brockley Whins station will remain open as usual and pedestrian step free access will be possible.  There will be access for road vehicles via a temporary traffic control system, please follow the instructions on the road signs. Work will be complete by mid November. 


22 October 2017 - No trains between Haymarket, Regent Centre and Four Lane Ends

On Sunday 22 October no trains will run between Haymarket, Regent Centre and Four Lane Ends in either direction until about 6.00pm.   A replacement bus, the number 900 will be calling at or close to all stations in the affected area.  Metro tickets and passes will be valid on the bus service and the driver will sell tickets. 

During the work trains will arrive and leave Haymarket, Regent Centre and Four Lane Ends from platform 2 (except for the trains leaving Haymarket at 6.30am and 6.47am which will leave from platform 1).  Please note the train that would normally leave Haymarket at 6.19am (towards South Hylton) will start service at Monument at 6.20am.  Your journey will take longer so please leave extra travelling time.  For help planning your journey call 0191 20 20 747 (open 8.00am - 6.00pm, Monday - Friday) or use the Live Travel Map.


29 October 2017 - No trains between Byker and Tynemouth

5 November 2017 - No trains between Pelaw and South Hylton

6 November 2017 - St Peter's platform 2 lift refurbishment

The lift on platform 2 will be out of use from Monday 6 November until 5.00pm on Friday 17 November, to allow for refurbishment work. 
If you require step free access and want to travel from St Peter's platform 2 (towards Newcastle), board a train from platform 1 to Sunderland change platform and continue your journey.  If you wish to leave the train at St Peter's platform 2, remain on the train until Seaburn, change platform and return to St Peter's platform 1.
