When we are running a good service the status will show as ‘No Metro disruptions’. Any delays (less than 15 minutes) to service will be announced via the station PA system and passenger information boards. If delays occur resulting in trains running more than 15 minutes later than advertised the status will be updated by an automatic travel alert system.

- Northumberland Car Park - partial closure

The ground floor level of the car park is open, all other levels are closed until further notice to allow for essential maintenance. On the ground floor there are 22 parking bays and 5 disabled bays.  Alternative parking is available at Four Lane Ends station. We're sorry for any inconvenience.

- Airport alternative entrance/exit

The doors between Airport station and Newcastle International Airport terminal will close at 9.00pm and reopen at 6.00am each day.  Access to/from the station is possible via the alternative doorway located midway up the ramp that leads to the terminal.  This doorway leads from the side of the station towards the main entrance of the terminal.

- Seaburn platform 2 lift refurbishment

Information updated 15 September.

The lift at Seaburn platform 2 will be out of use from Thursday 16 September returning to service on Monday 8 November, to allow for refurbishment work.

If you require step free access to or from platform 2 at Seaburn use the station ramp or if you prefer using a lift we advise the following:

  • If you wish to leave the train at Seaburn platform 2 (travelling from South Hylton direction) stay on the train until East Boldon, change platform and return to Seaburn.
