
The following bus services are changing from Sunday, 18 April. Where Nexus is stepping in to take over services previously operated by other operators some existing tickets and passes will no longer be valid.
Gateshead
One early Saturday morning journey each on services 45 (0516 Chopwell-Newcastle) and 70 (0626 Byermoor-Newcastle) will in future be operated by Veolia Transport. Go North East tickets and passes (eg Buzz Fare) will no longer be accepted. Network Traveltickets, Concessionary Passes and Under 16 Cards will still be accepted.
Newcastle
Experimental peak service 107 between Newcastle Central Station and the east end of Newcastle Business Park will be withdrawn. Stagecoach service 8 continues to provide a number of journeys between Central Station and Monarch Road, and there are frequent services to William Armstrong Drive.
North Tyneside
Go North East is withdrawing its cross-river service 59/59A between Wallsend/North Shields and Jarrow. To maintain a cross-river link Nexus has secured replacement service 319 between Percy Main Metro, East Howdon and Jarrow Bus Station. This will operate every half hour all day seven days per week, with an increased frequency at Monday to Friday peaks. It will be operated by Veolia Transport. Go North East tickets and passes (eg Buzz Fare) will no longer be accepted. Network Traveltickets, Concessionary Passes and Under 16 Cards will still be accepted.
North Shields to Hospital circular service 83A/83C will in future be part secured by Nexus, and all Saturday journeys will be operated by Veolia Transport. At these times Go North East tickets and passes (eg Buzz Fare) will no longer be accepted. Network Traveltickets, Concessionary Passes and Under 16 Cards will still be accepted.
Sunderland/Washington
Secured service 73 between Washington Concord and Sunderland Park Lane via Teal Farm, Waterview Park and Sunderland Enterprise Park will in future be operated by Tyneside Travel. The route and timetable continue unchanged. Go North East tickets and passes (eg Buzz Fare) will no longer be accepted. Network Traveltickets, Concessionary Passes and Under 16 Cards will still be accepted.
