North Shields’ new Transport Hub opens on Sunday, 3 September – the same day that many bus routes in North Tyneside are changing.
From Sunday bus routes 1, 11, 19, 57A, 307, 317 will call at the Transport Hub, making travel to and from the town centre simple and more comfortable.
New routes 353 and 354, which replace the previous 53 and 54 routes, will also call at the Hub, from Sunday and Monday respectively.
The hub is next to North Shields Metro station and boasts an indoor waiting area, modern seating and information in a well-lit secure environment with an accessible Changing Places toilets.

The new facility has been built and is being managed by North Tyneside Council.

Nexus has confirmed that five key bus routes in Newcastle and North Tyneside have been saved from the axe.
The routes, which were due to be cut by Arriva, have been retained thanks to Go North East and Stagecoach stepping in.
The two operators are to run new services which replace most of the planned Arriva cuts from 3 September.
