Public transport for the Easter weekend, April 19 - 22.
Tyne and Wear Metro:
Due to track modernisation work there are no Metro services running over the Easter weekend, April 19-22, between Gateshead Stadium and Hebburn/Brockley Whins.
Replacement buses 900 and 901 will be running in the affected area and passengers are advised to allow extra time to complete their journeys.
Metro services will be running between South Shields and Hebburn, South Hylton and Brockley Whins, and Gateshead Stadium to Airport / St James via the North Tyneside coast.
In the areas where Metro services are running there will be a Sunday timetable on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. On Easter Saturday there will be a Sunday timetable in operation, with a Saturday timetable between Hebburn and South Shields.

The majority of the services provided by the main bus operators Arriva, Go North East are running Sunday timetables on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.
The Shields Ferry is running to its usual timetable over the Easter weekend. On Easter Sunday, April 21, up to four children under 16 can travel for free on the cross-Tyne service when accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket or pass. Click here for information in full.

19 April, Good Friday: 6.45am – 10.50pm
20 April, Easter Saturday: 6.45am – 10.50pm
21 April, Easter Sunday: 10.15am – 6pm
22 April, Easter Monday: 6.45am – 8pm.
