Shields Ferry passengers will be entertained by musicians on their Tyne crossings this Bank Holiday weekend.
An array of amazing musicians will be on board the ferry on Saturday August 26, 12pm-6pm, giving live performances.
The Crossing the Tyne Festival has been organised again this year by a group of local musicians to bring free music to the people
And this year’s event promises to be even better, with musicians from across the country coming to perform. All donations will go to Oxfam.
Shields Ferry Manager, Carol Timlin, said: “We’re delighted to welcome the busking festival back on board
“The Ferry is a great backdrop for this event and it’s a lovely bit of entertainment for our passengers.”
There will also be a series of venues taking part across North/South Shields as well as Newcastle/Gateshead. With a separate 'night time' ferry event running up the Tyne hosting musicians, a DJ and a licensed bar. This event is £10 per ticket. See website below for details.
