Shields Ferry service to resume

The Shields Ferry service will resume from Sunday 21 March 2021 with the first timetabled sailing from South Shields to North Shields at 10.15am.

Nexus, the public body which owns operates the cross-Tyne service, halted the service in February as a safety precaution to allow further repairs to be completed on the north landing.

Welding repairs to the connections on the linkspan bridge at the North Shields landing have now been completed and the service can resume.
