Public transport information for this weekend’s Sunderland International Airshow.

Metro services will be running between Sunderland and Newcastle city centres and Seaburn Metro station. The seafront is only a 15 minute walk from Seaburn station. Extra staff will be on duty to provide passengers with assistance.

Avoid queuing at Metro ticket machines on the Airshow days by purchasing a Metro DaySaver in advance from any Metro ticket machine for £4.40.

A park and ride service will also be in operation over the Airshow weekend.

On Friday night, July 26, there will be a special park and ride from the Stadium of Light to marine View, Roker (Café Bungalow) between 4pm and 11pm, at a cost of £2 return per passenger.

On Saturday and Sunday, July 27 and 28, there are three park and ride services in operation, from Fulwell Quarry, the Downhill Sports Complex and the Stadium of Light.

Parking costs £5 per car from Fulwell and Downhill and £2 per car from Stadium of Light.

All three routes will operate until approximately 6.30pm or until the return queues are cleared, whichever is the later.
