Stottie Cake Week 2025!
This February half-term the National Scottie Week is back! Scotty the Stottie is encouraging all children to come to some amazing free events and even better children aged 11 and under can travel free on Metro, when travelling with an adult with a valid ticket!
Here is a round-up of all things happening in National Scottie Week:
Stottie Beer Launch
One for the 18 and overs. On 24 February 2025 there will be the Stottie Beer Launch at the Firebrick Brewery Grainger Market from 1 to 4pm. Come along and sample their new beers- made with waste stotties. In Collaboration with Big River Bakery and Firebrick Brewery.

Stories and Activities with Home Group
On 25 February 2025, 10 to 11am join Scotty the Stottie with stories and activities at the Home Group (One Strawberry Lane). This is a great free event to go to!

Seven Stories brings to you free interactive story telling!
On 26 February 2025 Seven Stories is joined by Scotty the Stottie in bringing 2 interactive story-telling sessions for a range of age groups. The younger age range (3 to 7) ,can come along from 10 to 10:45 am to enjoy story telling and interactive activities. The second session is for ages 6+ and runs from 11:30am to 12:30pm. This session features an interactive story telling plus an illustration workshop!

Stottie Bake
On 27 February 2025, check out @BigRiverNE on TikTok as they are hosting a free online Stottie Bake.
Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art
On 1 March 2025, come along to the Baltic Centre for free story time and activities from 11am - 11:45am and 1pm - 1:45pm.
