E-scooters:
E-scooters are not permitted on our network including trains, stations, and platforms. They pose a potential fire/smoke risk due to faulty lithium-ion batteries, which could cause harm to both customers and staff.
Bikes on Metro:
Do you travel on Metro with your bike? Please plan your journey in advance as some time and location restrictions are in place. Please remember, priority must always be given to wheelchair users and customers with pushchairs. Full details can be found here: https://www.nexus.org.uk/metro/useful-information/bikes-scooters-metro
Antisocial Behaviour Reporting:
Did you know you can now report low level anti social behaviour through the Pop App?
When you’re travelling on Metro and witness something that needs reporting—such as vaping, smoking, intoxication, harassment, or disorder—simply tap ‘Report’, select ‘Report a non emergency’, and choose your preferred reporting channel.
To help us respond effectively, please include:
• your location or direction of travel,
• the activity taking place, and
• a description of those involved.
Save the number in your phone so you can easily report issues in the future.
Operation Coastwatch:
Northumbria Police’s Operation Coastwatch is working in partnership with North Tyneside Council and Nexus to increase patrols across Metro stations, beaches, and parks. If you need to report a concern, you can contact the police online, call 101, or send a WhatsApp or SMS message to 07345 222 710, including clear details of the location and what is happening.

To ensure our train service continues to run we need to carry out regular maintenance and improvement works on and around our tracks. Some work can be done during the day, but often work can only be completed safely when the train service is not running. This means we work overnight and during planned line closures.
The type of work taking place includes inspections, patrolling the tracks, lineside management, maintenance and renewal work and cleaning. Sometimes the work generates noise which residents or businesses near to the Metro line may be able to hear.
To find out if we are working overnight near to you, click here.
