Revised train timetable between Fellgate and South Hylton

On Monday 28 and Tuesday 29 April a train scheduled to run from Airport to Fellgate will end service at Pelaw and a train scheduled to run from South Hylton to Airport will begin service at Pelaw.  Details of the train times are below.

Bank Holiday Monday 5 May 2025

A revised Sunday timetable will be running on Monday 5 May 2025.

Sunday 11 May 2025 revised Metro service

A revised timetable will be in operation on Sunday 11 May, due to planned improvement works taking place between Pelaw and South Hylton.  Revised train timetables are below.  For more details on the planned work click here.

To ensure our train service continues to run we need to carry out regular maintenance and improvement works on and around our tracks. Some work can be done during the day, but often work can only be completed safely when the train service is not running. This means we work overnight and during planned line closures.

The type of work taking place includes inspections, patrolling the tracks, lineside management, maintenance and renewal work and cleaning. Sometimes the work generates noise which residents or businesses near to the Metro line may be able to hear.

To find out if we are working overnight near to you, click here.
