When we are running a good service the status will show as ‘No Metro disruptions’. Any delays (less than 15 minutes) to service will be announced via the station PA system and passenger information boards. If delays occur resulting in trains running more than 15 minutes later than advertised the status will be updated by an automatic travel alert system.

- Northumberland Car Park - partial closure

The ground floor level of the car park is open, all other levels are closed until further notice to allow for essential maintenance. On the ground floor there are 15 parking bays and 12 disabled bays.  Alternative parking is available at Four Lane Ends station. We're sorry for any inconvenience.



 


 

- Whitley Bay station footbridge maintenance

The smaller footbridge within Whitley Bay station is closed until about Spring 2022 to allow for repair work.  During the work access between the platforms is possible via the other station footbridge with ramp.

- Tynemouth footbridge staircase work

Maintenance work on the footbridge staircase at Tynemouth will start on 24 January and continue for about four weeks.  During the work access across the bridge will still be possible as only half of the staircase will be closed.



 


 

- No trains between Airport and South Gosforth

On Saturday 12 February,  to allow for track renewal work. Trains will be running to all other stations but may not be to the usual timetable. More details are available in the Timetable changes section.  

A replacement bus service, number 900 will be running, calling at or close to all stations Airport - South Gosforth.
