Visit Bents Park This Summer
The South Tyneside Festival Parade, one of the biggest carnivals in the North East, takes place in South Shields this summer. It’s a colourful spectacle of dance, music, and celebration, with the parade making its way from South Shields Town Hall to Bents Park on Saturday 6th July. The theme of this summer’s parade is 'celebration'.
The free entertainment will continue over the summer, with performances along Sandhaven seafront and promenade:
Sigala - 14th July
Summer tunes are defined by catching DJ songs, and Sigala has plenty of summer hits to rock Bents Park this July.
Sigala, is an English DJ and record producer. He gained prominence with his 2015 debut single “Easy Love,” which cleverly samples the Jackson 5’s iconic track “ABC” Sigala has achieved eight top-ten hits on the UK Singles Chart, showcasing his talent in the house, dance-pop, electronic, and tropical house genres.
Jason Donovan - 21th July
Jason first gained fame in the Australian soap opera Neighbours, where he portrayed the character Scott Robinson. His career expanded into music in 1988, and he has sold over 3 million records in the UK. Remarkably, his debut album “Ten Good Reasons” was the highest-selling album in the UK in 1989, with sales exceeding 1.5 million copies. Donovan has also achieved four UK No. 1 singles. Beyond his music career, he has appeared in several stage musicals, most notably as the lead in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”

Sister Sledge - 28th July
The penultimate show for summer is headlined by Sister Sledge, with huge hits like “lost in music” and “ we are family” . Sister Sledge are composed of four sisters—Debbie, Jonie, Kim, and Kathy Sledge and many of their hits date from the late 70s disco era to the early 80s. These concerts are completely free, and no tickets are required—just show up and enjoy the music!
Haircut 100 - 4th August
Haircut One Hundred (also known as Haircut 100) is a British pop group formed in 1980 in Beckenham, London. The band achieved fame in the early 1980s and scored several UK top-10 singles. This reunion tour this summer follows a pair of sell-out gigs earlier in the year, commemorating the anniversary of “Pelican West” – their only album featuring lead singer Nick Heyward
