5 children's books to read on Metro

One of the perks of public transport is the ability to immerse yourself in a book while you travel.  Recently we asked our customers what their recommendations were for children's books to read on Metro. Here's the top five suggestions:

Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney

With a 12 book series the Diary of a Wimpy Kid has plenty to get your teeth into.

The series follows the adventures of Greg Heffley, a middle-schooler who documents his daily life in a journal. The books are known for their humour and relatable depiction of middle school life.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

If you are into myths and fantasy this book is for you, with a unique sense of adventure. The book follows Percy Jackson, a twelve-year-old boy who discovers he's a demigod, the son of Poseidon. He embarks on a thrilling adventure to prevent a war among the Greek gods. It also introduces readers to Greek mythology in a modern setting, making ancient myths accessible and exciting.

 

 The Magic Tree House series by Mary Pope Osborne

With over 50 books, the series covers a wide range of topics, from dinosaurs and ancient Egypt to pirates and space travel, sure to spark some  curiosity and imagination amongst any readers of all ages. The series takes readers on time-traveling journeys to different historical periods and places. 

The BFG by Roald Dahl

We couldn't create a book blog without including a couple of classics, and The BFG is one of these for sure. These books are advancing in years and have been read and enjoyed by many generations - still captivating children growing up today.


 


The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis

First published in the 1950s after the Second World War, this magical novel - also a blockbuster film - is mainly set in Britain and mythical lands that exist through the famous wardrobe.
