Finding Father Christmas in Tyne and Wear

Father Christmas is out and about in Tyne and Wear visiting lots of different children before his biggest night of the year! Here are five places where you and the family could go and visit him. Don't forget Kid’s aged 11 and under travel free on Metro when accompanied by a fare paying adult! 

Father Christmas is difficult to track down and may already be booked up in various locations. So we have come up with a guide of spots where there is still booking availability. Book your tickets quick to avoid missing out! 

  1. The Bridges 

Join Santa and his elf for festive fun at the Bridges Shopping Centre. The entry fee of £2.50 includes a special gift and photo opportunity. The sparkling ice castle grotto is open Tuesday to Sunday up until Christmas Eve and also 16 and 23 December.

  1. The Elf Express at The Stephenson museum

 

Jump aboard the most magical train ride of the year! Enjoy an interactive Christmas performance and meet the Chief Elf, as well as Santa Claus himself. Entry includes live entertainment, Christmas music, lots of photo opportunities, festive refreshments and a special present from Santa for every child.

  1. The Life Centre

 

A sell-out success in 2023, Santa Experience is back for another year. Join Santa in the amazing planetarium and gaze upwards as he flies around the globe on Christmas Eve to deliver presents. Visit his house and meet the man himself and see some exciting festive demonstrations. A child’s ticket includes a gift from Santa, hot chocolate and sweet treat as well as entry to the rest of the science centre!

  1. Breakfast with Mrs Claus at Seven Stories

 

Santa Claus is extra busy over this festive season, so Mrs Claus has decided to make a special appearance at Seven Stories: The National Centre for Children’s Books. Join her and the elves for a festive breakfast full of Christmas cheer and of course stories! Mrs Claus has chosen her favourite Christmas tales and can’t wait to share them over a delicious breakfast made with a pinch of Christmas magic.
