St Patrick's Day celebrations 2025 via Metro
St Patrick's Day is an Irish celebration that takes place on 17 March. Tyne and Wear hosts many different activities to celebrate the occasion.

Gateshead Alt Ceili
Alt Ceili is back on 16 March at Station East for an all day Ceili. There is a mix of Ceili style dances to your favourite songs and special guest performances throughout the day. No experiences is needed so you can come as you are and bring your friends! The event is running as a pay as you feel, so you can attend no matter what your funds are looking like.

2. Tyneside Irish Centre
Tyneside Irish Centre is hosting a day of live music to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. With music from the likes of Tony Corcoran and band, Dermot Hegarty, Rose Tattoo band and Liam Turner- as well as an Irish disco and traditional music sessions too- there's plenty to keep you entertained!
The nearest Metro station is St James or Haymarket.

3. Blackfriars Irish cookery class
If you are looking for something different to do discover the Emerald Isle's culinary heritage with Blackfriars amazing cookery club themed around Irish food on Monday 17, 6pm to 9pm. The class is led by Blackfriars very own chef-tutors and it is suitable for beginners. Learn how to make traditional irish dishes such as seafood chowder and soda bread and get to eat your creations too! Places cost £75 per person and include ingredients and refreshments during the class.

4. The Bridges

5. South Shields FC, St Patrick's Day celebrations!
Get ready for a spectacular night of Irish entertainment at South Shields FC on 15 March 2025. Hosted by Michael McNally, there will be live Irish music featuring Black Corner Band as well as Irish dancers and special guest performances.
