You can also travel on buses throughout England from 9.30am-11.00pm Monday to Friday and all day at weekends and Bank Holidays.
If you don't have a Concessionary Travel Pass, or you are travelling before 9.30am Monday-Friday, you must pay the full adult fare.
However, if you need to travel before 9.30am in order to get to a hospital appointment, just show your hospital appointment card or letter with your CT Pass when requested, to travel free of charge.
Tyne and Wear residents who are disabled and attend work or college for at least 15 hours a week can apply for an all day CT Pass. If you have one of these, you can travel free of charge on buses all day, every day.
If you have an English National Card (a Concessionary Travel Pass issued outside Tyne and Wear), you can travel free of charge on buses in Tyne and Wear from 9.30am-11.00pm Monday to Friday and all day at weekends and Bank Holidays.
Only Companion Cards issued by Tyne and Wear, Northumberland, County Durham or Darlington are valid on bus in Tyne and Wear.
