The competition
- The colouring competition is open to children living in the Tyne and Wear aged between 5 and 11 years old.
- To enter the competition, children should colour in the Metro Futures train design available for The Word, National Centre for the Written Word or online at www.nexus.org.uk/metro/brickmetro
- Entries must be sent to [email protected] quoting “Metro Futures colouring competition” in the subject line, or by post to Marketing team, Metro Control Centre, South Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE3 1YT or posted in the competition entry box at The Word, National Centre for the Written Word, Market Place, South Shields NE33 1JF.
- You are responsible for any cost incurred in sending your competition entry to us.
- All entries must include the entrant’s full name, age and address and the name and contact telephone number of your parent or guardian. We will only use this information in relation to the competition (including checking your eligibility to enter and informing the winner) and will not use it for any other purposes whatsoever. We will not keep this information for longer than is necessary for the operation of the competition.
- All entries must be submitted by a parent or guardian on behalf of their child.
- You may submit as many entries as you like.
- We must receive your entry by no later than 5pm on Friday 25 August 2017. Submissions received after the deadline will not be eligible for entry.
- Employees or agents of Tyne and Wear Metro or their family members may not enter the Competition.
Picking the winner
- There will be one winner, chosen by Tyne and Wear Metro and LEGO® Architect Steve Mayes.
- The decision will be made on or before Friday 1 September 2017. The decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The winner and a selection of other entries may be shared by Tyne and Wear Metro and Steve Mayes, via their social media channels.
Publishing the entries
- The name of the winner will be published on the Tyne and Wear Metro website, social media channels in the local media, on or after Friday 1 September 2017.
- By submitting an entry to the competition, entrants and their parents or guardians give Tyne and Wear Metro permission for your entry to be published and grant Tyne and Wear Metro a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to republish your competition entry in electronic format and hard copy for purposes connected with the competition.
- By submitting an entry to the competition, entrants and their parents or guardians give Tyne and Wear Metro the right to use your name, age and town or city of residence for the sole purpose of identifying you as the author of your entry.
- By submitting an entry to the competition, the winner and their parent or guardian agree to take part in media and PR activity for Tyne and Wear Metro for the purposes of publicising the competition. This includes, but is not limited to press releases and photography.
Getting consent from an adult
- Sending in an entry to the competition means that you accept these Terms and Conditions, which are the rules of the competition. Children must check with a parent or guardian that they are happy to grant permission for them to enter the competition based on these Terms and Conditions.
- Tyne and Wear Metro requires the consent in writing (which may include e-mail) of the parent or guardian of the creator of a winning entry to publish the author's name, age, town or city of residence and for photography connected to the competition.
- If Tyne and Wear Metro does not receive written consent (which may include e-mail) from the parent or guardian of the creator of a winning entry then we may award the prize to another entry for which we are able to gain such consent.
The prize
- The winner will receive a LEGO® model of their winning entry as their prize (or as close to the design as possible), made for them by LEGO® Architect Steve Mayes.
- The parents or guardians of the winner will be notified by telephone on or before Monday 4 September 2017.
- The prize will be presented to the winner and their parent or guardian at a photo opportunity in Tyne and Wear , the date/time/exact location of which will be arranged insofar as possible so that it is mutually convenient for all parties.
- The prize cannot be exchanged or transferred and cannot be redeemed for cash or any other prizes.
- We will substitute the prize with another prize of similar value in the event that the original prize offered is not available.
- The prize must be collected in person.
Additional terms and conditions
- Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.
- We take no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt.
- Your entry will not be returned to you.
- Tyne and Wear Metro accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the competition or accepting the prize. Tyne and Wear Metro further disclaims liability for any injury or damage to you or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in connection with the competition.
- Tyne and Wear Metro reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this competition with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud). The decision of Tyne and Wear Metro in all matters under its control is final and binding.
- Entries that fail to comply with rules, terms and conditions, privacy policies and requirements will be disqualified.
