Daren Persson Stadium is the home to North Shields Football Club. The stadium is located at Ralph Gardner Park on West Percy Road, North Shields, NE29 0SS.
Metro travel
The Tyne and Wear Metro is a public light rail rapid transport system which operates over and underground across Tyne and Wear. There are 60 stations on the network. Serving Newcastle city centre, Sunderland city centre, Newcastle Airport and the seafronts at North and South Tyneside. All you need to know about Metro.
Meadow Well and North Shields stations are the closest to the Daren Persson Stadium. If you are heading from South Shields or Sunderland, change trains at Monument (board a train from platform 3 towards Meadow Well and North Shields). If you’re travelling from the Airport you can change trains at South Gosforth (board a St James train from platform 2) or change trains at Monument (board a train from platform 3 towards Meadow Well and North Shields).
Walking routes
From Meadow Well station: About an 8 minute walk. Turn onto Meadow Well Way (turns left onto Ripley Avenue), turn right onto Waterville Road then turn left onto Silkey’s Lane, follow the road and the stadium will be on your right.
From North Shields station: About a 12 minute walk. Walk onto Railway Terrace (towards Rudyerd Street), continue onto Waterville Terrace, turn first right onto Coach Lane, turn third left onto West Percy Road.

Gateshead International Stadium is located on Neilson Road in Gateshead, NE10 0EF. There are local bus services and a Metro service that can get to the stadium.

Gateshead Stadium station is the closest station to Gateshead International Stadium. If you’re travelling from Newcastle city centre board a South Shields, South Hylton or Pelaw train. If you’re travelling from South Shields or from Sunderland, board any train as they all head towards Newcastle.
Walking route
From Gateshead Stadium: About a 10 minute walk. When leaving the station turn right and cross the road bridge, follow the pathway, through St. James Village housing estate to the main road (Felling Bypass), you’ll see the stadium on the opposite side of the road (please use the pedestrian crossings).

Hebburn station is the closest to Hebburn Town FC ground. If you’re travelling from South Shields, board any train. If you’re travelling from Newcastle board a South Shields train. If you’re travelling from Sunderland board any train to Airport and change to a South Shields train at Pelaw station platform 1.

From Hebburn station: About a 15 minute walk. From platform 2 walk through the car park and turn left onto May Close, follow the curve to the junction, at the junction turn right onto Hedgeley Road, at the crossroad turn left onto Station Road, follow the road and at the next crossroad turn right onto Victoria Road, follow the road and turn right onto South Drive (you’ll see pitches on your right).

The Shields Ferry
The Shields Ferry is a passenger ferry service on the River Tyne, connecting the local communities of North and South Tyneside. Local buses serve the ferry landings either side of the river and Metro stations are located nearby.
If you travel to the South Shields Ferry landing, you can connect with local bus services or to the Metro at the South Shields Interchange to travel to the football ground.

Kingston Park station and Bank Foot are the closest stations to the stadium. If you’re travelling from South Shields transfer to an Airport Train at Heworth. If you’re travelling from Sunderland, board any Airport train. If you’re travelling from Newcastle city centre board an Airport train.
Walking route
From Kingston Park station: About a 11 minute walk. If you have travelling from the South to platform 1, leave the station and turn right onto Brunton Lane, follow the road, at the cross roads turn left onto Windsor Way, follow the road until the T junction and turn left onto Brunton Road, the stadium will be on the right.
If you have travelled to Kingston Park from the Airport to platform 1, leave the station and turn left onto Brunton Lane follow the road, at the cross roads turn left onto Windsor Way, follow the road until the T junction and turn left onto Brunton Road, the stadium will be on the right.
From Bank Foot station: About a 11 minute walk. Leave the station and turn right onto Station Road, follow for about 2 minutes then turn right onto Main Road, stay on this path for about 2 minutes, then turn left onto Brunton Road. Follow Brunton Road for about 7 minutes and the stadium is on your left.

The International Ferry Terminal is located within walking distance of both Meadow Well and Percy Main Metro stations. There are quick and frequent Metro services that run directly from Newcastle Centre, with approximate journey times of 25 minutes.
There is a dedicated bus service, the number 327, which runs in coordination to Ferry arrivals and departures that runs direct to and from Newcastle City Centre. The Stadium of Light is the home of SAFC. The stadium is located near the River Wear, North West of the Wearmouth Bridge in Sunderland. There are numerous ways to travel to Sunderland including main line rail services, national coach services, local bus services and Metro.

From Stadium of Light station: About a 9 minute walk. Leave the station (large car park will be on your left), turn left onto Newcastle Road, follow the road until you see the large junction, turn right onto Rosebery Street and then cross Southwick Road, you'll see the stadium in front of you.

Walking route to the stadium from Sunderland station: About an 18 minute walk. Exit the station and head to Fawcett Street, follow the road towards Monkwearmouth Bridge, at the crossroads next to the bridge use either the pedestrian crossings or underpass to access the bridge, cross the bridge, you'll see St Peter's Metro station on your left. Walk under the bridge next to the Metro station up Sheepfolds, turn first right onto Hay Street and follow the road to Millenium Way, the stadium will be in front of you.

National Coach travel
National coach services arrive into Park Lane Interchange located in Sunderland city centre. You can connect to local bus services or to Metro at Park Lane Interchange to travel to the Stadium of Light. The Stadium of Light is in walking distance of the Interchange (about a 20 minute walk).
Walking route to the stadium from Park Lane Interchange (about a 25 minute walk): head onto Park Lane, follow this road for two minutes, turn right onto Holmeside, follow for a further two minutes onto Fawcett Street. Continue on Fawcett Street towards Monkwearmouth Bridge, at the crossroads next to the bridge use either the pedestrian crossing or underpass to access the bridge, cross the bridge, you'll see St Peter's Metro station on your left. Walk under the bridge next to the Metro station up Sheepfolds, turn first right onto Hay Street and follow the road to Millenium Way, the stadium will be in front of you.
Travelling to and from Newcastle International Airport

Travelling to and from Newcastle International Ferry Terminal
The International Ferry Terminal is located within walking distance of both Meadow Well and Percy Main Metro stations. There frequent Metro services running from Meadow Well and Percy Main into Newcastle Centre where you can transfer to a Sunderland bound Metro train.
There is a dedicated bus service, the number 327, which runs in coordination to Ferry arrivals and departures that runs direct to and from Newcastle City Centre. St. James’ Park is the home to NUFC. The club are actively working to reduce their carbon footprint and would like to encourage all fans to consider how they get to the stadium and consider using public transport. Travelling to Newcastle
There are numerous ways to travel to Newcastle upon Tyne including domestic and international air travel, main line rail services, international ferry services from Holland (Amsterdam), national coach services, local bus services and Metro (a light rail network serving 60 stations across the North East).
Travelling to St. James’ Park
St. James’ Park is located on Strawberry Place (NE1 4ST) right in the heart of Newcastle City. There are numerous Metro stations and local bus services that can get you to or near to the football stadium.
Metro travel
The Metro system consists of 60 stations with several of those being in the centre of Newcastle. Haymarket, Monument, St James, and Central Station are the closest stations to St. James’ Park football ground. All stations are within easy walking distance to the stadium. Walking routes
From Haymarket: About a 7 minute walk. Leave the station onto Percy Street, follow the road until you reach the crossroads, turn right onto Gallowgate, the stadium is about 3 minutes walk from here, on your right.
From Monument: About a 7 minute walk. Walk up Blackett Street (you'll see old Eldon Square green/war memorial on your right), follow until you reach the crossroads, go straight over onto Gallowgate and you'll see the stadium on your right.
From Central Station: About a 13 minute walk (via leisure outlets). Leave the station onto Neville Street, cross onto Grainger Street, follow this path for about 3 minutes, turn left onto Newgate Street, after another 3 minutes turn left onto St Andrew's Street (walk under the Chinese Arch) and follow the path to Gallowgate, you'll see the stadium in front of you.
Or for a more direct route leave the station onto Neville Street, cross onto Grainger Street then turn first left onto Westgate Road, follow the road to the crossroads and turn right onto St James Boulevard, follow this path and you'll see the stadium on your left.
From St James: The ground is adjacent to St James station.

Leave the station onto Neville Street, cross onto Grainger Street, follow this path for about 3 minutes, turn left onto Newgate Street, after another 3 minutes turn left onto St Andrew's Street (walk under the Chinese Arch) and follow the path to Gallowgate, you'll see the stadium in front of you. Or for a more direct route leave the station onto Neville Street, cross onto Grainger Street then turn first left onto Westgate Road, follow the road to the crossroads and turn right onto St James Boulevard, follow this path and you'll see the stadium on your left.

Us the pedestrian crossing and continue along Scotswood Road for about 16 minutes, you’ll see the arena on your right.

From Bede station: About a 6 minute walk. If you have left a train heading towards South Shields (platform 1) leave the station and turn right (under the rail bridge). If you have left a train heading towards Newcastle (platform 2) leave the station and turn left. Follow the road to the next junction and turn right, then it’s a short walk along Shaftsbury Avenue, you’ll see the 1st Cloud Arena on your right.

The Shields Ferry
The Shields Ferry is a passenger ferry service on the River Tyne, connecting the local communities of North and South Tyneside. Local buses serve the ferry landings either side of the river and Metro stations are located nearby.
If you travel to the South Shields Ferry landing, you can connect with local bus services or to the Metro at the South Shields Interchange to travel to the football ground.
Rail travel
Newcastle station and Sunderland station have mainline rail links throughout England and Scotland. All you need to know about rail services.
You can connect to Metro services from Park Lane Interchange and from stations in Newcastle city centre.
Bus travel
There are local bus services that stop near to the football club. Tickets can be purchased direct from bus drivers on the day of travel. National Coach travel
There are two main coach arrival points in central Newcastle:
- National Express bus station on St James Boulevard
- Megabus and Flixbus on John Dobson Street
National coach services also serve Sunderland, arriving at Park Lane Interchange located in the city centre. You can connect to Metro services from Park Lane Interchange and from stations in Newcastle city centre.
