Veteran filmmaker Ken Loach has shot scenes for his latest movie at Haymarket bus station in the centre of Newcastle.
The 82 year-old director is currently on Tyneside shooting his new film, titled ‘Sorry We Missed You’, and a city centre bus station was chosen for some of the scenes.
Filming at Haymarket took place over a single morning on Thursday 27 September.
The film is a follow up to Loach’s critically acclaimed film ‘I, Daniel Blake’, which he shot on Tyneside in 2015.
The film, set in Newcastle, told the story of a dad denied benefits despite being ruled unfit for work.
The plot of ‘Sorry We Missed You’ is believed to centre around a cash-strapped delivery driver who struggles to provide for his family.
Loach’s frequent collaborator Paul Laverty - who wrote ‘I, Daniel Blake’ - has penned the script.
