Track your Metro

App requirements
Your device will need to be connected to Wi-Fi or 4G/5G in order for the Pop app to provide Real-Time information.

Permissions
You will need to grant location permissions on your device, to allow the Pop app to find your closest Metro station automatically and display Real-Time information on your Personal PID (Platform Information Display) without you needing to select a station manually. 

You need to grant access to your precise location in order for the app's location feature to function correctly. 

Getting started
If you have granted location permissions:
•    Opening the Pop app home screen will find your closest station
•    Selecting 'Track your Metro' will open the Track your Metro feature
If you have not granted location permissions:
•    Opening the Pop app home screen will require you to choose a station
•    Selecting 'Track your Metro' will open the Track your Metro feature to the station you have chosen

 

Using Track your Metro functions
Station selectorPressing on the Selected station name (eg Hebburn), will open a selection menu, where you can choose a different station.  The app will then provide real-time information for the chosen station.Selected station: Hebburn
Recentre buttonThis will reset the map back to your live location or your manually selected station location.Recentre button

Personal PID

The lower section of Track your Metro provides an auto-refreshing feed for all platforms at the selected station.

The feed updates frequently when a data connection is available.

Contents of the Personal PID:
1.    Metro train's final destination
2.    The platform the train will arrive at
3.    The train number
4.    Expected arrival time, based on real-time information
5.    Last event reported, including the location and time

PID
MapThe map section of Track your Metro displays Metro trains, stations and alerts. Press them for more information.
The map updates frequently when a data connection is available
You can pan and zoom around the Metro network 
If location service permissions have been granted this map will update your location as you move around ensuring information is relevant

Train iconTrainThis indicates the location of a Metro train on the Metro system.
Arrow iconDirectionThis is shown on a Metro train icon, indicating which direction it is travelling in.
Location iconLocationThis indicates your live or manually selected location
Metro station iconStationThis is the location of a Metro station
Notifications
Red notification iconRed notification
Service disruption or suspension, or station closure
Amber notification iconAmber notification
Facilities out of use
Information notification iconInformation notification
